Nathan Loda (b. 1989, Vienna, Virginia) is an American realist oil painter whose work explores the intersections of history, memory, and landscape. He earned his MFA from George Mason University(2015) and a BFA in Painting from Shepherd University(2011). His practice is deeply informed by his interest in storytelling, American history, and the natural world.
Loda’s paintings often blend realism with abstraction and imagination, reinterpreting historical themes through a contemporary lens. Influenced by traditions such as the Hudson River School and Renaissance art, his work reflects a reverence for landscape as both a physical and spiritual space.
He lives and works in rural upstate New York, where his surroundings and his family serve as ongoing sources of inspiration for his studio practice.
